Blue Creek Kennels

Bluetick Coonhounds

Background

My name is Rodney Weikel. I was born and raised in Ohio. As a child I spent a lot of time in the woods. I started coonhunting with Blueticks in 1997 at the age of 14. Some of the people that I want to thank for helping me get started in the sport of coonhunting are; my dad for introducing me to the sport, my mom for her support, Adam Simpson, Mark Baer, Tim Baer, and Bill LaRoche (4 of the guys that I hunted with regularly and acquired some of my hounds from).

News

Last night (July 13, 2008) I had the oppurtunity to hunt with Mark Baer, Jim Howes, Kirk Sparks, Mike Hoffman, Luke and Logan Ebersole, Randy and his son (I forget their last name) and my father & brother-in-law (John & Steven Norris). We had some really nice hounds to hunt with including GRNITECH'PR' Uchtman's Blue Ed, a young female out of him, a niece and nephew (littermates) to him and a young Walker dog owned by Randy. The hounds really put on quite a show and showed us a few coon. Everyone seemed to have a good time.

Here are a few pictures from the night:
